Firewise Committee Charter

TITLE: Fire wise Community Committee

 

PURPOSE:  The Committee is responsible for developing, monitoring, evaluating and modifying as needed a Burke Ranch Property Owners Association Fire wise Action plan. 

 

OBJECTIVES: To focus on Burke Ranch wildland fire preparedness, mitigation and member safety information. 

 

To ensure the Burke Ranch Fire wise action plan:

  • Is based on an accurate description of the community

  • Is consistent with local, state and nationally recognized guidelines, requirements and recommendations

  • addresses issues specific to the geographic layout and needs of the community

  • includes a formal and informal process for recommending preparedness and mitigation strategies for Burke Ranch property owners

  • works within the supervision and authority of the Burke Ranch Property Owners Association Board of Directors

 

To work in collaboration with the Burke Ranch Community, City of Plymouth, Amador County Fire Prevention department, CALFIRE and the Department of Forestry

 

To ensure an action plan annual review is conducted and a update to be completed at a minimum of every three years

 

MEMBERSHIP: There will be Burke Ranch Property Owners, local, state and federal participants

 

ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES OF MEMBERSHIP: 

Responsibilities of the membership on this committee

  • Term of committee membership is 4 years

  • Consistent attendance

  • Commitment to participate

  • Ensure input from all members

  • Follow through with all action items in a timely manner

  • Ensure meeting minutes are available to all property owners

  • For issues requiring additional  discussion or if impasse arises, committee may bring recommendation to Burke Ranch Homeowners Association

 

MEETING DATES and TIMES: Monthly meetings are scheduled on the 1st Friday of the month with the alternative meeting date to be the 2nd Friday of the month when rescheduling is necessary

 

RECORD KEEPING: Committee documents will be available for member access whenever needed

 

AUTHORITY: The committee has authority to gather data; to make recommendations; to clarify or negotiate, and to act based upon authority granted by Burke Ranch Property Owners Association Board of Directors
